In Fortrose, we met Sarah, the warm and welcoming owner of the Coorie Company. Her shop embodies the Scottish word “coorie”—to snuggle and find comfort—with shelves filled with cozy goods and artwork from a local girl. Sarah even showed us her sauna guidebook, which led us to the Bracken Hide Hotel in Portree.

What makes her shop stand out is its eco-conscious mission: everything is environmentally friendly, vegan, cruelty-free, and completely plastic-free, with packaging that’s recycled or recyclable. Sarah’s mix of kindness, community spirit, and commitment to sustainability left a lasting impression—her store is as caring as it is cozy.
